Son of Mary

Christ was born in a unique way of God without a mother, from a human mother without a father. He was born in the last period of time. He came through a woman, his mother, the Lord of heaven and earth. He is certainly the Lord of Mary also.

As the creator of heaven and earth, he is the creator of Mary. But according to the statement of St. Paul, "born of a woman," he is the Son of Mary. The same Lord of Mary is the Son of Mary. The very creator of Mary was born of Mary!

-- Sermon on John 8, 8-9

Prayer. Glory to our Lord and to his mercy and to his truth! Out of his mercy he did not fail to make us blessed, not did he hide from us his truth. The Truth, clad in flesh, came to us and healed through his flesh the inner eye of our heart, that afterward we might be able to see him face to face.

-- Commentary on Psalm 56, 17
